Our dental assistants and hygienists are licensed professionals who pride themselves on staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and patient communication. They are excited about what they are doing, have high standards of quality and integrity, and are motivated to achieve the best results for our family of patients.

Our dedicated and motivated staff has one primary goal—your utmost comfort and safety! We feel it’s important that you understand the treatment that you’ll be receiving so that you can relax during the procedure. Our staff is eager to answer any questions regarding your dental care. Appointment Coordinators

Melanie and has worked in the dental field since 2001 with experience in insurance, assisting and scheduling in general dentistry and prosthodontics and has worked for Dr. Calvert for 8 years. Melanie will help you with your registration paperwork and assist you with your appointment needs.

Melissa and has been working for Dr. Calvert for 2 years. Melissa is one our Appointment Coordinators and will assist you with your appointment needs. If you have any questions regarding your appointment, please ask the front desk for assistance.

Insurance Administrator

 

 

Heidi works with all aspects of dental insurance; verifying benefits and coverage, pre-authorization, billing, follow-up, etc. Heidi has worked for Dr. Calvert for 28 years. She is the mother of 3 and all 3 daughters have helped out in the office at one time or another doing clerical tasks. Her oldest daughter Melanie is currently one of the Appointment Coordinators for Dr. Calvert. If you have any questions regarding your insurance or finances, please ask Heidi for assistance.

Surgical Coordinator

 

 

Sonia has worked for Dr. Calvert for 10 years. When she is not scheduling surgeries at Dr. Calvert’s office, she enjoys art, cooking and traveling. Sonia is knowledgeable will all procedures performed by Dr. Calvert. Sonia will be happy to answer any questions regarding your surgery.

Dental Hygienists

 

 

Walter has been working at Dr. Calvert’s office for 3 years. He feels honored to be surrounded by such hardworking people and feels it has truly been a pleasure helping patients. He loves coming to this office and working among these wonderful people.

Laura has been with Dr. Dennis Calvert for 33 years as a periodontal hygienist. “I love what I do - helping people to improve their oral hygiene techniques so that they can keep their teeth for a lifetime.” She started out as a Plaque Control Nurse in the early 70s, teaching patients how to clean their teeth effectively, and that mantra has been the basis for the therapy she provides to her patients each time they have a periodontal cleaning. Laura graduated from Foothill College's Dental Hygiene Program and then continued on for her BS in Dental Hygiene from the East Tennessee State University's (ETSU) on-line program. She is currently working on her MS in Allied Health through ETSU's on-line program. Laura hopes to eventually establish a program, especially designed to assist elderly Hispanic Women, to improve their access to dental care. She is currently designing a Spanish Dental Terminology course for Chabot College's Dental Hygiene Program.

Surgical Assistants

 

 

Quoc joined Dr. Calvert’s staff in January of 2008 after graduation from the Dental Assisting program. His duties mainly consist of surgical preparation, sterilization, and chair-side assistance. He has a twin sister, Bao Huynh, who was Dr. Calvert’s receptionist for 3 years but now is currently pursuing dentistry in Mesa, Arizona (Aye, Caramba!)

Mimi has worked for Dr. Calvert for 13 years as a surgical assistant and patient coordinator. She is the mother of one son who is a general dentist. Her son has been friends with Dr. Terrak Calvert since elementary school and has had the privilege of having Dr. Dennis Calvert as a great role model.

Jessica has been part of the staff since 2007, as a full time surgical assistant and patient coordinator. While working for Dr. Calvert, she has successfully completed all her prerequisites to become a dental hygienist. Jessica has turned in her application in August 2010 at Carrington College and is awaiting acceptance. She feels the experience she received from working as a surgical assistant and patient coordinator has prepared her to become a successful and caring healthcare provider in the future. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and beautiful dog, Jake.
